Kartik Aaryan is currently one of the most bankable actors in the industry. He has been shooting back to back for films. Well, Kartik is also supposed to play the lead role in Aashiqui 3. While everything is locked as far as the male lead is converted, speculations have been rife that Tara Sutaria might be headlining the successful franchise. Amid this, Mukesh Bhatt has finally come forward to issue an official clarification.
Speaking with Subhash K Jha for the entertainment portal Bollywood Hungama, Mukesh Khanna expressed, “Every week I read the name of a new leading lady, it has become a tiring and repetitive joke.”
He further that Tara Sutaria news is false and she isn’t being considered, ““It is absolute nonsense. There is not even an iota of truth in this. She is not even in consideration. Shall I tell you the truth? No girl will be considered for the role before my music (is) ready. The songs were the stars of the first and second Aashiqui. This franchise doesn’t need a Start We are glad to have a star this time (Kartik Aaryan). But the rest is entirely up to the music,” he stated.
“I am making it clear once and for all that Aashiqui is my franchise. I will make it the way I want to and with the team I wish. When I am ready to go on the floors with Aashiqui 3, if Anurag Basu still wants to direct the film, fine. Otherwise, we will get someone else.” Bhatt explained.
On September 5, 2022, Kartik took to his Instagram handle and announced the film, “Ab Tere Bin Ji Lenge Hum, Zeher Zindagi Ka Pi Lenge Hum #Aashiqui3, This one is going to be Heart-wrenching !! My First with Basu Da.”
To note, Aashiqui 2, was released in 2013. It was directed by Mohit Suri and starred Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles.
Kartik Aaryan is currently busy shooting of Kabir Khan’s sports biopic, Chandu Champion. Reportedly, Chandu Champion is a sports drama the shooting of which will take place over the next six months. While the final release date of the film has not been decided as of now, it is likely to hit theatres in June next year. “Though the film is a sports drama on the outlook of things, there are many elements that require good vfx time, and hence, Kabir will be keeping a good amount of time for the post-production. Both Kabir and Sajid are confident that the film will be a landmark in their career,” Bollywood Hungama source said.
