Dave Bautista-James Gunn To Reunite For DC film? This Post Has Fans Guessing
After featuring in Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol 3, Dave Bautista confirmed his exit from the MCU.

Having worked together in the Guardian of the Galaxy films for Marvel Studios, it is no secret that director James Gunn and Dave Bautista are good friends. After all, it is Bautista’s transformation as Drax that put the wrestler-turned-actor on the map, making him a fan favourite character. However, now, as the Marvel hero has marked his exit from the Marvel Cinematic Universe after making a final appearance as Drax: The Destroyer in Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol 3, the actor is next on the list to join the DC Universe. As fans eagerly wait for the actor to feature in the next DC film, a new photo has suggested that he might reunite with his friend-director James Gunn.

The Hollywood actor recently shared a photo from what appears to be the parking lot of DC Studios, leading fans to believe that he might be taken in for a new DC film with Gunn, who is presently atop DC Studios alongwith Peter Safran.

Dave Bautista-James Gunn reuniting for the next DC film?

Taking to his Instagram story, the actor shared a photo of himself sitting in the parking space, reserved for James Gunn, while also tagging him in the story.

Reacting to it, Gunn reshared the photo on his IG story and wrote, “Hey Dave Bautista. I can’t believe you’re parking your body in my space.”

The fun banter between the two clearly didn’t go unnoticed as fans were quick to find a connection. While some speculated whether Dave was being considered for options like Bane and Hugo Strange, some even wondered if the Knock at the Cabin star would be roped in as Brainiac in the upcoming Superman: Legacy.

Notably, this comes at a time when James Gunn had already affirmed that he presently only casts DC Universe roles for projects actively in development. Given that only a few projects including Peacemaker, Superman: Legacy, and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow are actively in production, it is not likely that Dave Bautista will appear in one of these projects. However, an announcement is yet to be made.

Dave Bautista’s exit as Drax

After featuring in the third and final instalment of the Guardians films, Dave Bautista confirmed his exit from the MCU stating that he looks forward to new challenges.

Appearing on The Tonight Show, the actor said, “I ended it on a storybook note. And I would never go back and tarnish that. And it’s the same with this…With Drax, I just got to end the perfect way. And I would never sign up for another job as Drax just to get a paycheck.”
