According to a report by DongA.com, boyband Super Junior member Choi Si-won and Welcome To Waikiki actress Jung In-sun might be roped in for the romance drama DNA Lover. Choi Si-won along with his group Super Junior has made a prominent mark in the music world with their songs. He has also shown his expertise in acting in many films. Meanwhile, Jung In-sun has also attained fame in several notable K-dramas. Hence, a web series featuring Choi Si-won and Jung In-sun would surely be a treat to watch if the speculations turn out to be true.
On November 30, a report released by DongA.com claimed that Choi Si-won and Jung In-sun received casting offers for DNA Lover. Although the upcoming K-drama is currently under wraps, Choi Si-won’s agency SM Entertainment, and Jung In-sun’s agency H& Entertainment issued an announcement stating that both the stars received the offer to be a part of the romance drama. However, they were presently reviewing the offer before coming to a decision. “The actor received an offer (to star in the drama DNA Lover) and is currently reviewing the offer,” read the statement, as cited by Soompi.
DNA Lover revolves around the life of a genetic researcher who experiences a string of broken relationships while looking for her true love “through genes”. As per Soompi, Jung In-sun is expected to play the female lead of the genetic researcher, whose name in the K-drama will be Han So-jin. Meanwhile, Choi Si-won will reportedly be given the part of the male lead — Shim Yeon-woo. Shim Yeon-woo will be portraying the character of a handsome gynaecologist whose pattern of life is to break up with women when they become too infatuated with him. The reason behind the same is that he neither believes in marriage nor fate.
Although Choi Si-won and Jung In-sun have not yet confirmed being a part of DNA Lover, fans are already waiting with anticipation to watch the uncanny pair on-screen for the first time. The romantic drama promises to tell a refreshing tale of love with a sprinkle of science.
