With the blessing of my father who’s always looking out for us from the heavens above and the unconditional love that my mum, samu, friends & family have always spoilt me with, I enter my 10th year motivated to keep going ❤️✨.”

Bhumi Pednekar made an unusual Bollywood debut in Sharat Kataria’s Dum Laga Ke Haisha, co-starring with Ayushmann Khurrana. She won the hearts of audiences and critics with her performance as an overweight yet supremely confident girl, Sandhya. The movie also starred Sanjay Mishra, Seema Pahwa, Alka Amin, Sheeba Chaddha and others in crucial roles. The movie also received several accolades for its acting, storyline, music and more.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the actress was last seen in Bhakshak. Released on Netflix, the film has received decent reviews. News18’s review of the film read, “Bhumi Pednekar is fantastic as a journalist in a decrepit Bihar town. As Vaishali Singh, married for six years, she is under pressure from her sister and brother-in-law to have a child. Her husband is easygoing and lets his wife work, a journalistic passion that translates into breaking stories about society’s underbelly.”
