Tom Hiddleston’s portrayal of Loki garnered so much praise that the studio created a stand-alone series for him, which has gone on to have two incredibly successful seasons. One of the finest character arcs in the MCU came to a close in Disney+ Loki season 2, where Hiddleston’s character developed into an overwhelming force. At the season 2 conclusion, Hiddleston’s Loki—who had evolved into the God of Time—met his greatest test. Hiddleston has now revealed whether or not he believes that Loki season 3 will happen.
In a Variety interview at a Disney+/Hulu event, Hiddleston discussed his tenure as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Loki. When asked if the plot will be continued in a third season, Hiddleston revealed that he is asked that question multiple times a day on average. Sadly, Hiddleston himself is unable to provide a definitive response, stating that he honestly does not know what Loki’s future in the MCU entails. The actor acknowledged that Season 2 may have been the final chapter in Loki’s journey and that he would still be really happy if that were the case.
“To go from this lost, broken soul in Asgard, and be given a second chance and learn so much about life that he actually gives himself to protect other people, has been such an honour,” he additionally stated to Variety.
When asked which characters he would most want to see the God of Mischief square off against in a future film, Hiddleston hinted that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine would be at the top of the list.

Last year, while discussing Loki 3 following the release of Loki 2, executive producer Kevin Wright stated that they already had ideas. While he revealed that he was proposing his ideas and Marvel had yet to announce anything, there was still optimism because Wright had a vote in the matter.
It’s important to keep in mind that Loki is one of the most seasoned characters in the MCU, having joined the cast in 2011 and acting as the main antagonist in The Avengers (2012) before appearing in subsequent stories. In addition to emerging as a standalone hero, Loki now plays one of the most important responsibilities in the MCU—that of preserving the timeline.
Loki is no longer the greatest candidate to wear the God of Mischief title. The character makes a transition from being self-centred to altruistic, relegating himself to a life of seclusion where he keeps watch over the many parts of the multiverse by himself. That sacrifice propelled Loki to the position of God of Stories in the MCU and given his condition at the end of the series, the probability of Loki’s return to the MCU remains uncertain.
That being said, a significant project in the upcoming years will introduce a sort of Loki season 3 into the MCU, even if its main character does not return, according to Screen Rant.
