Actor Varun Sharma is currently basking in the success of the latest and third instalment of Fukrey franchise. Despite gaining fame with his role, Varun faced numerous rejections and self-doubt before landing his breakthrough. In an old interview, Varun Sharma reflects on a challenging experience from his early struggling days. In an interview, Varun shared a story of being deceived once. He initially signed for the role of a hero’s friend with only four lines in the contract; he discovered during the train journey to the location that he was cast as part of the crowd, not the hero’s friend as promised. This unexpected turn left him perplexed by the minimal contract content.

Upon realising the deception, Varun Sharma expressed his initial disappointment but decided to gain experience. When served food on set in a paint container displaying the company’s name in the film set, he couldn’t hold back tears, overwhelmed by the situation.

Varun Sharma was born on February 4, 1990, in Jalandhar, Punjab. His education started at The Lawrence School in Sanawar, then he moved to Apeejay School in Jalandhar for his senior years. He then got a Bachelor’s degree in Media, Entertainment and Film Technology from ITFT Chandigarh. In 2013, Varun Sharma made his Bollywood debut in the comedy-drama Fukrey, directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. The film achieved commercial success, garnering worldwide earnings of Rs 49 crore (US$8.9 million).

Following his debut, Varun Sharma has been part of various projects like Dolly Ki Doli, Dilwale, Chhichhore, Roohi, and Chutzpah. In another interview, he also shared that despite numerous memorable experiences, the first day of shooting Fukrey holds a permanent special place in his heart. Recalling that day at Miranda House in North Campus, Delhi, Varun emphasises the profound significance, marking his entry into the world he had dreamt of throughout his life, and allowing him to live that dream.
