What Manju Warrier Said About Hema Committee Report On Sexual Harassment In Malayalam Film Industry
The Hema Committee Report highlighted the malpractices against women, including sexual harassment, gender bias, lack of basic facilities and pay disparities in the Malayalam cinema industry.

Following the release of the Hema Committee Report, the Malayalam cinema industry is experiencing turmoil. The report highlighted the malpractices against women, including sexual harassment, gender bias, lack of basic facilities and pay disparities, sparking outrage across the country. The findings and subsequent allegations of sexual assault have sent shockwaves throughout the film industry. At this time when most of the celebrities remained tight-lipped, Manju Warrier broke her silence at an event in Thamarassery, Kozhikode. She was joined by actor Tovino Thomas at the occasion. She addressed the crisis, acknowledging the tough times the industry is currently going through.

While speaking at the event, the actress said, “As we all know, the Malayalam film industry is going through a crisis now. Tovino and I are standing here as celebrities today because of the Malayalam film industry. Unfortunately, the industry is under dark clouds right now, but let’s wait for those clouds to pass and brighter days to shine through.”

“With your support and care, I firmly believe that neither I, nor others, nor Malayalam cinema will be affected,” Manju Warrier added.

In addition to addressing the industry’s challenges, Manju Warrier and Tovino Thomas paid a heartfelt visit to the 122 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) in Wayanad. The actors honoured the soldiers for their heroic efforts during the rescue operations following the recent landslide that devastated the area. The actors expressed their deep gratitude for the Jawans’ exceptional bravery and service during the aftermath of the disaster, which caused widespread destruction and loss.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu, on the other hand, recently made a demand to the Telangana government to release a sub-committee report originally submitted by The Voice of Women, a support group made for women in the Telugu film industry.

Meanwhile, Malayalam actress Manju Warrier was last seen in Saiju Sreedharan’s directorial Footage. The star has several projects across multiple languages in the pipeline. She will next grace the screen in Rajinikanth and TJ Gnanavel’s cop action drama Vettaiyan. Manju also has Vetrimaran’s sequel Viduthalai Part 2 in her kitty. The beauty will also feature in L2: Empuraan opposite Mohanlal and Arya-starrer Tamil film, Mr X.

In addition to that, after winning the hearts of fans in the Malayalam industry, the actress is all set to make her acting debut in the upcoming Bollywood film Amriki Pandit, alongside Madhavan.
