Ranbir Kapoor is still getting praise for his last film Animal. The film had created a lot of records at the box office. Well, even after three months of its release, the emotional cum action drama continues to be in the news. Recently, Vishal Bhardwaj was speaking about the film in an exclusive interview with Firstpost and said that he hated and enjoyed it at the same time while watching the film.
He was speaking to Firstpost and when asked to share his views about the film. The ace director replied, “I have still not made up my mind what to feel about that film. because I enjoyed it and at the same time I hated it.” It is worth mentioning here that the makers have already announced the sequel, Animal Park. Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared an exciting update about the film’s sequel but revealed that the shooting will begin only in 2026.
“This is going to be bigger and wilder than Animal,” Vanga said as quoted by E-Times and then added, “The shooting of the film will begin by 2026.”
Previously, Instant Bollywood reported that the makers of Animal Park are likely to get Vicky Kaushal on board for the sequel of their blockbuster movie. Reportedly, Vicky Kaushal is being considered for a negative role in Animal Park. While there is no official confirmation regarding this as of now, it will be interesting to see Vicky’s on-screen clash with Ranbir. In the first part of the movie, it was Bobby Deol who played the negative lead.
Released on December 1, 2023, Animal revolved around a man and his toxic relationship with his father. The film showed Vijay (played by Ranbir) as an anti-hero who would go to any lengths to protect his father, including gun down 200 people with machine gun. However, despite his efforts, he struggled to get a seal of approval from his emotionally unavailable father (played by Anil Kapoor). The film also starred Rashmika Mandanna and Triptii Dimri in key roles.
While Animal was a box office success which earned over Rs 900 crore worldwide, it was also questioned by many for being ‘misogynistic’. The film sparked a debate on social media, with many slamming the director for his portrayal of Vijay.
