Tamannaah Bhatia Says 'Don't Judge Vedaa' After John Abraham Calls Journo 'Idiot': 'More Than Just Action'
Tamannaah Bhatia said that Vedaa is not just an action film and John Abraham is telling a different story this time.

The trailer of John Abraham’s Vedaa was released recently at a special event in Mumbai. When a journalist asked John Abraham why he continues to make action films, the actor urged him to watch the film before making any judgements and called him an ‘idiot’. Now, Tamannaah Bhatia, who plays a small part in the film, has taken to social media to ask fans to not judge Vedaa as it has “more than just action”.

Tamannaah wrote on X, “Don’t judge Vedaa by its cover – Trust me when I say, it’s more than just an action film! My friend @TheJohnAbraham, one of the nation’s favorite action heroes is bringing his incredible influence to a genre he’s totally mastered. This time, he’s telling a different kind of story through action, showing just how deeply this genre can convey meaningful cinematic experiences today.”

She added, “What’s even more exciting, personally to me, is that Nikhil Advani is returning to the director’s chair after 6 or 7 years, which adds yet another layer of anticipation to our film. I can’t miss on mentioning #Sharvari here and how I just can’t wait for y’all to see her kill it on the big screen yet again!”

The actress continued, “Although my contribution to the film is modest, I’m genuinely soo excited about its release and to have partnered with John, Nikhil sir, Sharvari, Abhishekh Banerjee, and the entire crew of Vedaa. Our film promises to bring a fresh perspective to action films in our country, and I feel everyone would lovee to experience this new story on the big screen For now, sharing this trailer with you all, but puri picture zarur dekhna 15 August ko!”

For the unversed, at the recent Vedaa trailer launch, John Abraham found himself in a tense exchange with a journalist, a moment that quickly made headlines. Renowned for his commanding presence both on and off the screen, John didn’t mince words when asked about his selection of roles. The heated interaction sparked a lot of discussions, shedding light on the actor’s candid approach and unfiltered responses.

During the press conference for Vedaa, John was provoked by a request to do “something new,” which led him to respond sharply, “Aapne film dekhi hai (Have you seen the film)? Can I call out bad questions and idiots?”

When it was suggested that the trailer hinted at another typical action film from him, John insisted, “Nahi, main to aapko sirf directly kehna chahta hoon ki ye film alag hai. Mere hisab se to it is a very intense performance jo maine kara hai. Of course, aapne film dekhi nahi hai. (No, I just want to tell you that this is a different kind of movie. According to me, it is a very intense performance of mine. Of course, you haven’t seen the film.)”

The incident took place during the Q-and-A session at the Vedaa trailer launch, where John Abraham was joined by co-stars Sharvari, Abhishek Banerjee, and director Nikkhil Advani, among others, to address the media.
