Rajkummar Rao starrer Srikanth released on the big screens on May 10 and has garnered positive reviews from critics and audiences. Biopic on the visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla, this film is doing considerably well at the box office. On day 11, Srikanth has garnered an impressive Rs 1.50 crore as per the Sacnilk portal. According to Sacnilk, the total collection of the film in India is Rs 27.60 crore. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, Srikanth stars an ensemble star cast of actors Alaya F, Bharat Jadhav, Sharad Kelkar and others.
Srikanth has also received accolades from the Bollywood celebrities. On Instagram stories, Ranveer Singh wrote, “An uplifting story & a beautiful performance from a special actor. Congrats to the team of #Srikanth.” Akshay Kumar wrote, “Nothing is impossible. #Srikanth is a must watch! Picture dekh ke mazza aa gaya. Rajkummar Rao, bhai ab toh acting classes shuru kar de. You are simply brilliant,” the actor wrote on social media. In response to Kumar’s words, Rajkummar sai, “Thank you so much my dearest Akshay sir.” He added,” Aapse hi seekhte hai sir. You’re the best.”
Srikanth narrates how an industrialist, Srikanth Bolla, despite being visually impaired defied all obstacles and achieved success in life. It has highlighted his academic struggles as a visually impaired person who graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The industrialist is also known for appointing unskilled and differently-abled individuals. Rajkummar Rao’s role as Srikanth has earned him much appreciation. Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani have backed this film.
Earlier, in an interview with News18 Showsha, Alaya F opened up about her work experience with Rajkummar Rao. She said that he remains invested in his character and the acting. She called it incredible and said that it’s a masterclass watching him do what he does. Alaya also lauded him saying that he is sweet, kind, and a lovely person. “So, it was great working with him!”, she concluded the interview with these words.
In addition to this film, Rajkummar will also act in the Sharan Sharma-directed Mr And Mrs Mahi. This movie will hit the cinemas on May 31.
