Shekhar Suman Tells Adhyayan to Take Inspiration from Katrina Kaif: 'She Couldn't Stand, Say Lines...'
Adhyayan Suman recently revealed his directorial plans - a big biopic and a love story. He had stopped working on the latter due to financial issues.

Actor Shekhar Suman has recalled the time when Bollywood star Katrina Kaif had made her debut in Bollywood. Katrina began her journey in Hindi film industry with Kaizad Gustad’s black comedy thriller ‘Boom’, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Jackie Shroff. Shekhar, in a recent interview, told his son Adhyayan to take inspiration from Katrina who couldn’t even say her lines properly during her initial days in her career, but is now a superstar.

Adhyayan, who’s been getting rave reviews for his performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, recently shared in an interview, how seeing the size of his posters reduce was disheartening.

During the interview with Bollywood Hungama, Adhyayan shared, “I began my career being the hero of all my films and then the poster size kept getting smaller and smaller. I know how much that hurts. Now the fight is to make it bigger again, that’s the whole journey.”

Sharing his opinion on Adhyayan’s comment, Shekhar said, “Take a cue from other people’s journey. Look at Katrina Kaif. When she came in Boom, she couldn’t stand, say her lines, or even dance, but look at where she reached. Look at her performance in Rajneeti and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara. Even in Dhoom 3, you could never say that she is the same girl who had started like that. It happens to the best of people. Even Deepika Padukone grew into a beautiful actress. Ananya Panday used to go through a lot of trolling until Kho Gaye Hum Kahan happened. So you have to take it on your chin with a pinch of salt and a sense of humour.”

Adhyayan Suman witnessed the biggest success in his 16-year long career with Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. And now he’s all set for the next phase of his career. The actor looks forward to essaying meatier roles and prove his detractors wrong. He has a bunch of releases lined up in the upcoming months. To add to that, he will soon be making his directorial debut.

In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, he spilled the beans on his maiden venture as a director. “I’ll be making my debut as a director with a biopic that I’ll also produce. I can’t tell you whose biopic it is yet but it will be a big and exciting project,” the actor revealed.
