Rajinikanth-starrer Lal Salaam Banned In Kuwait For This Reason
Lal Salaam is reportedly facing a ban in Kuwait due to the portrayal of communal issues and religion-based fights.

Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated directorial Lal Salaam has finally been released today, February 9. Ever since its announcement, the sports thriller has been making headlines for various reasons with the primary one being the superstar’s extended cameo in the film. The early response by the audience hints at the favourable response to the film. Reportedly, owing to the sensitive content of the film, Lal Salaam has been banned in Kuwait.

The ban in Kuwait is reportedly due to the portrayal of communal issues and religion-based fights that erupt following a local cricket match. While the official confirmation around the same is yet to be made, reports suggesting that Rajinikanth’s film will not be released in Kuwait have been making rounds. Reportedly, the Middle East earlier prevented the release of numerous Indian films like Fighter, Beast and Bell Bottom. The films were based on the India-Pakistan conflict.

Coming back to Lal Salaam, the film also stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead alongside Dhanya Balakrishnan, Vivek Prasanna and KS Ravi Kumar, apart from Rajinikanth. The film’s musical compositions have been done by AR Rahman. Reportedly, Lal Salaam’s theme revolves around spreading the message of harmony.

Amidst the controversy and the film’s release, Rajinikanth extended his best wishes to Aishwarya praying that her daughter’s film would turn out to be a “huge success”. The Jailer actor dropped a picture with Aishwarya on X in which the superstar was captured sitting in a wheelchair in a quintessential Rajinikanth style. Flashing a smile, he cupped his daughter’s face affectionately in the picture. Accompanying the picture was a heartwarming note that read, “My anbu salaam to my beloved mother Aishwarya. I pray to the almighty that your movie Lal Salaam will be a huge success.”

Meanwhile, Aishwarya’s ex-husband and actor Dhanush also gave a shoutout to the film on its release date. On his X handle, he wrote, “Lal Salaam from today.” Meanwhile, fans are gripped with enthusiasm as they are flocking to their nearby theatres to witness Thalaiva making a grand appearance in the film.
