Rohan Chand will be seen portraying the confused but brave Mowgli with Matthew Rhys, and Freida Pinto. The film features motion capture performances by Cate Blanchett, Naomie Harris in addition to Benedict Cumberbatch(Shere Khan), Christian Bale (Bagheera), and Serkis himself as Baloo.

After a breathtakingly immersive live-action version of Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book by Disney, the story of the 'wild-kid' is back, this time with a darker narrative. Mowgli, directed by Andy Serkis is essentially based on the same 19th-century story of a human infant adopted by the wolves, but this time instead of his adventures, it's the story of him being an outcast in the jungle as well as in the human world.

Unlike it's Disney counterpart, Mowgli is dark, dangerous, more emotionally heavy and free of the patent care-free nature and comic element. The Warner Bros studio appears to be making a major effort to differentiate the movie from Disney’s 2016 hit The Jungle Book, which generated $966 million (97 crores approximately) in the worldwide box office.

The film is all set to release worldwide on October 19.
