The trailer of the upcoming Tamil film titled Meiyazhagan has been released by the makers. The film features Karthi and Aravind Swamy as the leads. Dubbed as a slice-of-life drama, the trailer promises the viewers an emotional story of two friends dealing with issues of the past. The trailer of the upcoming Tamil-release was unveiled on the official YouTube channel of Think Music India. The 2-minute 44-second clip starts with a very anxious Arul (played by Aravind Swamy) who seems to be starting a new journey. Then he meets Athaan, a motivated young man hell-bent on making Arul’s life a little easier. The clip then follows the two sharing a bond, which soon becomes unbreakable. The remaining clip shows the two encountering unavoidable circumstances and the problems they face because of it. In the end, Athaan, who used to be a positive young man for Arul, is seen shedding uncontrollable tears on a phone call with the man.

The video has gained over 4.4 million views and more than 105,000 likes on the platform so far. It was released on September 23. Fans react to the clip in the comment section below. The first user wrote, “Karthi coming to steal our hearts." The second fan wrote, “Some of the shots from this trailer have already affected me in a good way, which I can’t express." A third user shared, “My favourite actors Aravind Swamy Sir and Karthi Sir are very interesting."

Meiyazhagan is being made under the direction of C Prem Kumar, who is also credited as its writer. The cast includes Karthi, Aravind Swamy, Rajkiran and Sri Divya among many others. It is being produced by Jyothika and Suriya under the banner of 2D Entertainment. For music, the makers roped in Govind Vasantha while the cinematography is done by Mahendiran Jayaraju and the editor is R Govindraj. The film is going to have its theatrical release on September 27.
