Dhanush is one of India’s multi-hyphenated personalities who has primarily worked in Tamil cinema. He is a producer, director, lyricist, playback singer and also an excellent actor. The actor’s milestone 50th film, Raayan was released last week. It also marks his second directorial venture. As reviews from fans pour in on X, looks like Dhanush has taken the cake with this one. Also joining the bandwagon now is Mahesh Babu.

Previously, Telugu actor Sai Dharam Tej had a special message for Dhanush and the team of Raayan. He wrote, “Congratulations @dhanushkraja on making #Raayan a special milestone for yourself. @arrahman sir, You’re gonna turn theatres surreal once again. Can’t wait. All the best”.
Veteran director and actor also Bharathiraja shared a photo with Dhanush and shared his wishes. “Congratulations on the 50th film @dhanushkraja. Wishing you huge success for your relentless hard work and passion for cinema! Heartfelt Best wishes to the team Raayan!”, he posted.
As per reports, the film has earned Rs 42.65 crore over its first weekend in India. Dhanush took to X earlier to thank his fans and wrote, “My sincere thanks to the audience, film fraternity, friends, press and media, and my pillars of support – my fans for showering me with all your blessings. This is the best blockbuster birthday gift ever. Om Namashivhaaya! With love, D.”
Raayan is directed by Dhanush and will star him in the lead. The action-packed revenge drama also features S. J. Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Saravanan. The music is scored by maestro AR Rahman. It was one of the highly anticipated Tamil films of the year.
The film revolves around Kathavaraayan or Raayan, a hotel owner in Chennai who takes his revenge on the gangs that had destroyed his family. The film has been certified A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
