As per the Local 18 Tamil, many films revolving around cricket have been directed to date. However, Lubber Pandhu is different from those projects. Overall, Lubber Pandhu gives you the feeling of watching a good film with your family. Since the film revolves around a plot based on cricket, the youth and family audience are keenly watching the film in theatres. This film stars actors Dinesh Ravi, Devadarshini Chetan, Geetha Kailasam, Harish Kalyan and others in key roles.

Lubber Pandhu has also dominated the headlines for a long time for its numerous references to the late actor Vijayakanth. The Lubber Pandhu filmmaker talked about this aspect at a press conference regarding the film. Due to this reason, Tamizharasan added that he included many references for Vijayakanth said by the actor Dinesh. Dinesh’s character has shown to be a staunch follower of the late actor.

Lubber Pandhu is the filmmaker Tamizharasan’s debut project in the film industry. Before this film, the director has proved his capabilities as the first assistant director for the film FIR. He has also written the Nenjuku Needhi’s dialogues.

In addition to these aspects, the majority of the audience was also eager to watch the actor Harish Kalyan’s acting prowess in Lubber Pandhu. In an interaction with The Hindu, Kalyan talked about why he accepted this project. He said “The predominant reasons I accepted the film was because it’s set against a sports backdrop and I’ve not played many village-based characters. The fact that both of them came together in one script excited me. More than the play-off between two players, there are more emotional conflicts between all the major characters.”
