Kirron Kher attended News18’s She Shakti 2024 on Monday when the former Chandigarh MP talked about current Members of Parliament disrespecting the speaker and urged them to honour the chair.
“I feel very bad for the speakers. People do not respect them the way they should be respected. Saying that he is from another party…he will definitely be from some party or the other. The ruling party will obviously have their own speaker. But it is important to honour and respect the chair,” she said.
News18’s She Shakti was held in New Delhi. It celebrated the trailblazing women propelling India to the global forefront. The summit had an inspiring line-up of pioneers from diverse fields — politics, science, arts, business, sports and entertainment — to share their ground-breaking journeys and insights on empowerment, resilience and leadership, reflecting the unstoppable momentum of women leading India’s progress.
Kirron Kher Also Opens Up On Her Cancer Diagnosis
During the session, Kirron Kher also talked about her cancer diagnosis and shared, “Everyone fears that one day something like this might happen. But when it does, there’s no choice but to accept it. The treatment, with all its side effects, was harder than the illness itself. The first six to eight months were very tough, but you leave it in the hands of the Lord. I’ve always believed, even when fighting elections, that ‘This is not my fight; the Lord fights for me.’”
Kher further emphasized her deep faith, noting that “we often think we are in control, but it’s the divine that truly shapes things.” She also mentioned how cancer treatment continues long after the initial diagnosis, despite the common perception that one can “beat” cancer quickly.
