KGF, which promises to be a unique experience as far as Kannada cinema is concerned, has released in about 2,000 screens.

After giving hits like Gajakesari, Mr and Mrs Ramachari and Masterpiece, Kannada superstar Yash is back once again to entertain the audience with his new magnum opus KGF (Kolar Gold Fields). The film, which releases worldwide today, features an ensemble cast of Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Ramya Krishna, Ananth Nag, John Kokken and Achyuth Rao.

The film, which promises to be a unique experience as far as Kannada cinema is concerned, has released in about 2,000 screens. The film features Yash as Rocky, who learns his life-lessons the hard way on the streets of Mumbai where he begins his career as a shoeshine. Slowly and steadily, he rises in the world of crime. His life takes a turn when reaches Kolar where he is up against the local mobsters. Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF is a period drama that traces the history of gold mining and the mafia running it in the generous fields of Karnataka’s Kolar region.

If initial reviews are anything to go by, the audience seems impressed with Yash's performance in the film. Twitterati are especially lauding film's cinematography and dialogues.

One user wrote, "#kgfreview awesome experience. Better than baahubali. And I lived my 4 hours in KGF. YASH will rule. SULTHANA!!" (sic)
