A rare photo of Jaya Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan surfaced online and is going viral. The photo was reportedly taken during Shweta’s baby shower. Shweta was pregnant with her daughter, Navya Naveli Nanda at the time. In the photo, Jaya rested her head in Shweta’s lap as they posed for the camera. Shweta and Jaya twinned in white Chikankari outfits at the event.
The photo was shared by ace designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. “When White Chikankari became a Standard for Celebration: In this iconic photoshoot, Shweta dazzles in white Chikankari alongside Jaya Bachchan. Her ensemble is crafted in real silver and antique gota borders with Zardozi embroidery at the hem, while Jayaji’s Chikan saree featured jaali work in the Tagar flower motif. To complement her mother’s saree, Shweta wore a veil of real Tagar flowers for her big day. This photograph was clicked five days before Shweta gave birth to her daughter, Navya Naveli,” the caption of their post read.

The duo also shared a rare photo of Shweta from her wedding day. “Shweta Bachchan, Abu Sandeep’s ever blooming muse, became a vision of absolute radiance in white – the most unexpected bridal colour during the nineties. Yards of intricately hand-embroidered Chikankari enveloped the bride in an elegant embrace, creating a trend that has been cherished ever since,” the caption read.
Shweta married Nikhil Nanda on 16 February 1997. She welcomed Navya the same year. Navya was born on December 6, 1997. The couple also welcomed their son, Agastya Nanda, shortly after. Agastya was born on November 23, 2000. Instead of pursuing acting like Amitabh, Jaya and Abhishek did, Shweta chose to explore a career in writing.
