Saif Ali Khan plays a man-child, that he has played in several other films, one more time in director Nitin Kakkar’s Jawaani Jaaneman.

It might have opened higher than usual Saif Ali Khan films on the first day at the box office but Jawaani Jaaneman can’t be called a big opener yet. The film, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, has earned Rs 3.24 crore on its opening day.

Adarsh tweets, “#JawaaniJaaneman does much better than several *solo* #SaifAliKhan movies released in the *recent past*... Biz witnessed an upward trend towards evening shows at metros... Needs to trend well over the weekend for a respectable total... Fri ₹ 3.24 cr. #India biz.”

Khan plays a man-child, that he has played in several other films, one more time in director Nitin Kakkar’s film. On the other side of the 40s, the unmarried man suddenly discovers that he has a 21-year-old daughter, played by Alaya F, who is pregnant. This sudden development changes the tempo of his life and he is forced to lead a responsible lifestyle. The film also features Tabu in a pivotal role.

This is Khan’s second release this year. Earlier, he played the antagonist in Tanhaji The Unsung Warrior that also had Ajay Devgn in an important role. Tanhaji is doing wonders at the ticket window and is slowly inching towards the Rs 250 crore mark.

Khan has an impressive line-up of films this year which includes Dil Bechaara and Bunty Aur Babli 2.
