The upcoming biopic titled Slow Joe recently received a significant boost with its new collaboration. The celebrated French actress and director Sandrine Bonnaire joined forces with Bollywood veteran Jackie Shroff for the much-anticipated flick. The biopic, based on the life of the late Indian musician Joseph Manuel Da Rocha, is produced by Isabella Sreyashii Sen and Olivier Dock. Sen and Dock are the co-CEOs of Singapore production house Hazelnut Media.
Bonnaire is set to bring her expertise to helm the upcoming film. For those unversed, Da Rocha aka Slow Joe was disowned by his family due to his addiction to drugs and heroin. Heartbroken at 50, he decided to embark on a new journey of sobriety and moved to Goa. During a trip in 2007, his paths crossed with Lyon-based French Musician Cedric de la Chapelle. Joe who was also a poet and musician sang for the musician. He was quite impressed with Joe’s captivating talent and allowed him to record some of the cappella songs.
