Neena Gupta has etched herself as one of the most talented and versatile personalities in Bollywood. The veteran actress is set to reprise her role of Manju Devi in the highly anticipated Panchayat season 3. In a recent interview, she discussed her viral ‘no work’ post, revealing it did nothing for her. Neena Gupta is someone who does not shy away from being honest about her personal or professional life. In a conversation with a media portal, the actress was asked about her viral post, where revealed that she had no work and requested others to help her with it. She revealed that even though the post went viral, it did not help her get work. Neena Gupta stated, “I got small roles that I used to get before as well. My life changed after Badhai Ho.” She added, “This post was of no help and it only gave me scandalous type of fame but only after Badhai Ho I got work.”
In Badhai Ho, Neena Gupta portrayed the character of an older housewife, Priyamvada Kaushik, who discovers that she is pregnant. Made under the direction of Amit Ravindrenath Sharma, the film was released on October 18, 2018. The film starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta, Surekha Sikri, Sanya Malhotra and others. It is produced by Vineet Jain, Hemant Bhandari, Aleya Sen, Amit Ravindernath Sharma and Sushil Choudhary under the banners of Junglee Pictures and Chrome Pictures. The cinematography was handled by Sanu Varghese while the editing was done by Aarti Bajaj. Made on a budget of Rs 29 crore, the film went on to collect more than Rs 221 crore at the box-office.
Neena Gupta is going to be seen in the third season of the acclaimed web series Panchayat, starring as Manju Devi. The cast also includes names like Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy and Sanvikaa. Panchayat is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and bankrolled by the Viral Fever production banner. It will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on May 28.
