‘I Was Trembling And Crying’: Charlie Puth On Emotional Moment At His Wedding

Charlie Puth’s wedding with Brooke Sansone last month took an unexpected turn when the singer fumbled while reading his vows, despite careful preparation. In a recent interview with People, the singer admitted that he was “trembling and crying” throughout the ceremony. Although he practiced his speech beforehand and imagined to deliver his vows with confidence, but the moment became too emotional for him to stay calm. The couple, who have known each other since childhood, got married on September 7, 2024, at Charlie’s family home in California, after two years of dating.

“I had practiced it so many times, and I was reading it with such confidence. I thought I sounded like Barack Obama reading a speech. I got up there and I was trembling and crying, but I was just so happy. I think my happiness overtook me,” he said.

After their wedding ceremony, Charlie Puth shared the video from his special day on Instagram. In the video, he can be heard reading his vows for his lady love, Brooke Sansone. The footage also includes glimpses of their beautiful wedding day.

Sharing the video, he wrote, “Today I stand before you Brooke, And I can’t help but realize today is truly the happiest I’ve been. In my 32 years of life. Some things I could not predict, but one thing has always been clear, yes somehow I seemed to have always known, I’d be standing with you up here.”

Further, Charlie Puth shared more details about his wedding day, explaining he and Brooke Sansone planned a welcome party the night before their wedding. However, their plans changed and they ended up hosting the celebration at their home. Charlie felt that celebrating at home made the occasion more special because of the memories they created.

He said, “It was just infinitely more special. Everywhere I look, at my parents’ house, our house, all around town. The town got so much more special for me because of all the wedding memories. I look at the beach and thought, ‘OK, that’s where we all were the next day, and reminiscing about last night’.”

According to Vogue, Charlie Puth and Brooke Sansone began their romantic journey in June 2022. The relationship blossomed when the singer proposed to Brooke on September 5, 2023. For the special moment, he specially travelled from Los Angeles to New York City to surprise her and chose 11:11 pm to pop the question.
