'Haven’t Explored This Genre Of Comedy': Vicky Kaushal On Bad Newz
Vicky Kaushal is known for portraying simple yet impactful characters, but in Bad Newz, he deviates from his norm.

Actor Vicky Kaushal has said that he agreed to act in Bad Newz because he wanted to explore the genre of comedy, something he hasn’t done before. Vicky Kaushal is known for portraying larger-than-life characters, but in Bad Newz, he deviates from his norm.

Sharing his experience of shooting a comedy, the actor expressed a deep sense of familiarity and comfort despite venturing into unfamiliar territory. Vicky Kaushal said, “For me, shooting this film was like home because Anand Tiwari and Karan Johar, the people I worked with, exuded that feel-good vibe and the script was very good. I found the concept of the film new, and the kind of humour it has, even though I haven’t explored the comedy genre that much as an actor.”

Talking about Anand Tiwari, the director of the film, Vicky Kaushal said, “He is not only a phenomenal actor but also a brilliant director, especially when it comes to comedy. So, I felt good about giving myself over to him.”

Continuing on the topic, the actor said, “It was something new for me too and the kind of energy that you need to show in the scenes is what I got on the sets. I was working with a family, which was important because I hadn’t done much in the comedy genre before and a lot of it was new to me. So, without thinking much, I jumped into it.”

At the trailer launch, Tripti Dimri looked pretty in a short shimmery black dress with gold embellished straps. She paired her LBD with a pair of strappy black heels. Vicky Kaushal looked comfortable in his signature black-on-black style but added a hint of colour with his pastel blue shirt. Ammy Virk attended the launch in a chequered cropped jacket paired with a classic white shirt and blue denim jeans. Also, present at the event were filmmaker Karan Johar and director Anand Tiwari.

Directed by Anand Tiwari, Bad Newz is presented by Amazon Prime and Dharma Productions in association with Leo Media Collective. Bad Newz is expected to hit the theatres on July 19.
