Meanwhile, seeing the success of the film, the makers of Maharaja have organised a success meet in Kochi on Thursday, June 20. The event was attended by Vijay Sethupathi, and on the occasion, the actor thanked the Kerala audience for the wide recognition of the film, which is currently garnering everyone’s attention.

Addressing the media at the success meet, Vijay Sethupathi said that the team didn’t expect such a tremendous response from Maharaja. He said, “We thought the movie would have a good run in Tamil Nadu. But we’re extremely happy with the overwhelming response it got outside the state. People are showering love on every actor and technician who worked on the film. I don’t know what to say!” Lastly, the actor also thanked the Malayali audience for making Maharaja a phenomenal hit.

According to the most recent reports, Maharaja has become a huge hit, grossing Rs. 46 crore at the Indian box office in its first week. It has grossed USD 2.10 million (Rs. 17.50 crore) overseas, with significant contributions from the Middle East, where it benefited from the Eid holidays.

The film’s overall worldwide box office grosses Rs. 63.50 crore after the first week, and it is expected to exceed Rs. 100 crore by the end of its run.
