Model and actress Malaika Arora and her family are mourning the sudden passing of her father, Anil Mehta, on September 11, 2024. The heart-wrenching news devastated the Arora family, with Malaika and her sister, Amrita Arora, rushing to their mother Joyce Polycarp’s home in Bandra to bid a final goodbye to their beloved father. Later that evening, Malaika was seen leaving the house, accompanied by Arjun Kapoor, who comforted her through this difficult time.
In a video shared on social media by a paparazzi, Arjun Kapoor was seen helping a visibly grief-stricken Malaika as she exited the building. He carefully escorted her to the car, where she was joined by her son, Arhaan Khan. Her sister, Amrita Arora, was also present to offer support. Arjun’s concern for Malaika was evident as he stayed by her side throughout the evening.
Close friends of the Arora family, Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor, were also present to provide comfort. The Kapoor sisters were seen leaving the residence together, offering their condolences to the family during this challenging time. Kareena and Malaika have shared a deep bond over the years, often being spotted together at social events and supporting each other through difficult moments.
Malaika Arora, who was reportedly in Pune at the time of her father’s passing, rushed back to Mumbai upon hearing the tragic news. Amrita Arora, who had visited their parents just a day earlier, arrived with her husband Shakeel Ladak to pay her respects. Arbaaz Khan, Malaika’s former husband, was also spotted offering his condolences.
Arhaan Khan, Malaika’s son, was seen earlier in the day leaving the building with his cousin Nirvaan Khan and aunt Amrita, visibly affected by the loss of his grandfather. The extended Khan family, including Salim Khan, Helen, Sohail Khan and Alvira Agnihotri, also visited the Arora residence to express their sympathies.
Malaika took to Instagram to announce her father’s passing, referring to him as a “gentle soul” and a “devoted grandfather.” The cremation will take place on September 12 at the Santacruz Hindu Crematorium in Mumbai.
