Deiva Thirumagal To Ponniyin Selvan, Sara Arjun's Journey As A Leading Child Actress

Actress Sara Arjun gained recognition as a child actress with the film Deiva Thirumagal. Directed by A.L. Vijay, the film featured acclaimed actors such as Vikram, Anushka, Amala Paul, Santhanam, and more. Sara portrayed Vikram’s daughter in the film. Since her debut, she has appeared in several Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, and Telugu films.

Sara Arjun is the daughter of seasoned actor Raj Arjun. With a career spanning two decades, Raj Arjun made his debut in Anurag Kashyap’s Black Friday and has been featured in notable films including Rowdy Rathod, Raees, Secret Superstar, Dear Comrade, and Thalaivi.

Starting her acting career at just one and a half years old, Sara grabbed her first commercial opportunity when discovered at a mall with her parents. At the tender age of 2, she became the face of an advertisement directed by A.L. Vijay, laying the foundation for her debut in the film Deiva Thirumagal. Then, at the age of 5, she ventured into Hindi cinema with the film 404.

Sara Arjun continued to star in big-budget films alongside Bollywood celebrities, collaborating with Salman Khan in Jai Ho, Emraan Hashmi in Ek Thi Daayan, and Aishwarya Rai in Jazbaa. Her commendable portrayal in the leading role of Saivam, alongside Nassar, earned acclaim from both critics and audiences.

The actress achieved a significant breakthrough in 2022 with her role of young Nandini (played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 as well as Part 2. While she had a minor role in Part 1, her character took on a more prominent role in Part 2. The two-part film garnered a box office revenue exceeding Rs 800 crore, propelling the young actress to widespread recognition across India.

At 17, the actress became the richest child actress in India with a net worth of Rs 10 crore. But after turning 18, she no longer holds this title. Presently, the actress charges Rs 4 lakh per film and lives a comfortable lifestyle.

There are ongoing speculations regarding her potential collaboration with Thalapathy Vijay in a supporting role, although there’s no official confirmation. Additionally, reports suggest her upcoming film Quotation Gang, where she is anticipated to share the screen with Jackie Shroff.
