Bollywood actor Bobby Deol did not shy away from teasing his father, veteran actor Dharmendra on the subject of romance. The Animal star was on The Great Indian Kapil Show with his brother, actor Sunny Deol when he pulled Dharmendra’s leg with regard to his romantic side. Coincidentally, the episode aired just a few days after Hema Malini sparked rumours that she and Dharmendra got married again on their 44th wedding anniversary.
The topic of romance came up when Kapil Sharma, the host the Netflix show, asked Sunny and Bobby to shed light on who is the most romantic person among the father and the brothers. “If I give 100 points and you have to distribute them among you, Bobby and Dharmendra, and the category is romance, who will you the most points to?” Kapil asked.
Bobby replied, “Papa will get 1 lakh. We won’t get anything (laughs). No one is as romantic as Papa. Do you all agree with that?” leaving everyone in the room in splits.
For the unversed, last week, Hema and Dharmendra celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. Taking to X, Hema Malini shared pictures in which she and Dharmendra were seen sporting massive garlands while they posed for pictures. The Sholay actress was seen wearing a bright traditional saree and sindoor while Dharmendra sported a peach-coloured shirt. In one of the photos, Dharmendra was seen planting a kiss on Hema’s cheek while she blushed. The photos sparked speculations that they’ve tied the knot again.
Meanwhile, Bobby and Sunny also reflected upon the successful 2023 on the show. Last year was a blessing for the Deols, with all three outings by the family’s three members — Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol — were successful.
Emotional, Sunny credited the success to his daughter-in-law, Drishti Acharya. “There have been many years, so many events have unfolded. We’ve all worked on various fronts. Various things were happening. We were putting in our best efforts. It wasn’t that we weren’t trying. I was involved in many things, so was Bobby (Deol), and even Papa (Dharmendra). However, all of a sudden, with my son’s marriage, and the arrival of a daughter at our home, the atmosphere completely changed,” he told Kapil.
