The Uttar Pradesh Police lodged an FIR against Gauri Khan, designer and wife of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, in connection with a property dispute under Sushant Golf City Police Station, Lucknow, on Wednesday.
The FIR was lodged on the complaint of Jaswant Singh, a resident of Mumbai, who alleged that Tulsiyani Constructions and Developers Limited, which boasts of Gauri Khan as the brand ambassador, failed to give possession of the property despite charging Rs 86 lakh.
According to the FIR, in the year 2015, Tulsiyani Constructions and Developers Limited appointed Gauri Khan as its brand ambassador. Influenced by the advertisement that highlighted its under-construction project of plush residential apartments along the Shaheed Path locality in Lucknow, Singh met the owners of the company and booked a flat. He was told that the possession would be given by 2016.
Gauri Khan has been charged with criminal breach of trust under Section 409 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Apart from her, the FIR was also lodged against Anil Kumar Tulsiyani, CMD of Tulsiyani Construction and Development, and Mahesh Tulsiyani, its director.
Gauri Khan is currently busy producing SRK’s upcoming action-thriller Jawan, directed by Atlee. The film is expected to hit the big screens on June 2.
