Legendary Peruvian celebrity fashion photographer Mario Testino who was welcomed with open arms by fashion and Bollywood biggies, including actress Katrina Kaif, on his maiden visit to India this February, recently did a photoshoot with the actress for his iconic towel series.
The series which was originally meant only for Instagram, grabbed eyeballs world over for showcasing celebrities in a never-seen-before avatar. The project showcases a different side of each celebrity. It takes the fans and followers one step closer to the world of their idols and shows them their raw and unseen beauty.
The series features the likes of Kate Moss, Kristen Stewart, Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, Blake Lively, Justin Bieber and Kendall Jenner, all posing for the camera, in separate photographs, with only a white towel as a prop. And actress Katrina Kaif added another feather to her cap by becoming the first Bollywood celebrity to feature on the series.
Katrina's photograph is precisely the 135th image of a towel-clad celebrity featuring on the series. Testino himself took to Instagram to share the image on his official account and captioned the photo, "TOWEL SERIES 135, KATRINA KAIF. #TowelSeries #MarioTestino @KatrinaKaif (sic)."
The Baar Baar Dekho actress looks smoking hot holding a white towel to cover her assets while she puts her sexy, well-toned back at display. Her hair too are covered with a white towel in the photograph. There isn't anything about Katrina that we have seen before in any of her photos. Even calling her beautiful yet sexy would be diminishing her beauty.
Back in February, when Katrina attended the bash which was organised in honour of the ace photographer, she was all praises for Testino. She told News18.com in an exclusive interview, "He is such a warm, welcoming and amazing person and he takes the time after doing some of the most amazing work in the world and photographing the most amazing, brilliant women in the world. He takes the time to personally know you and to find out what is it about you that makes you who you are. He takes time to get to know a person and I think it's that humility and it's that grace which which adds to his incredible talent and makes him who he is."
She had also admitted that she was a huge fan of his work. She said, "I think like me, many people who started their careers from the modelling world, from the fashion industry have always been a fan of his work. I think he does just the most beautiful, personal work. You can always tell a picture of his, I don't even have to read the credits. 95% of the time I see a picture and I know if Mario Testino has shot it because there is a certain eye to his work, certain beauty, certain delicateness. Now, after meeting him I can really understand why!"
On the work front, Katrina will next be seen in Jagga Jasoos, opposite Ranbir Kapoor, slated to hit the silver screens on July 14.
