Work on at Koondankulam plant, claim protestors

TIRUNELVELI: Activists of People’s Movement Against Nuclear Energy (PMANE) met District Collector complaining that some work was being carried out at Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant inspite of the assurance that it wouldn’t function until the fear of the people is allayed. PMANE Convener S P Udhayakumar and activists M Pushparayan, M P Jesurajan, Sundar and Ganesan met Collector R Selvaraj on Wednesday. Addressing the media after meeting the Collector, Udhyakumar said, “We came to inform the Collector that the workers should not go into the plant or else the agitators would lay siege to the nuclear plant,” he cautioned.
