Woman duped of valuables worth Rs 1.2 lakh

BANGALORE: A resident of Venkate Gowda Layout, Mamta, a homemaker was duped by two miscreants who claimed to polish jewels and made away with Rs 1.2 lakh worth gold ornaments.
The incident in Amruthahalli police station limits on Tuesday noon. Police said that the miscreants went to the victim's house at around noon and told they would polish gold ornaments. Without questioning much, Mamata gave her gold chain and two bangles. The miscreants polished the chain and put it in a pressure cooker. They left the house telling her to open it after some time. When Mamata opened the cooker she realised she had been cheated. Her husband has filed a police case in this regard.
