Woman cop beats man, taken to GH for treatment

TIRUCHY: A 48-year-old man who was summoned to a police station in a property dispute was assaulted by a woman police inspector here on Friday.It is said, J Prakasam of Netaji Nagar in North Thuvakudimalai asked for his share in the ancestral property. One of his sisters Michael Mary had lodged a complaint with the Tiruverumbur All Women Police station on Thursday.Inspector Kanimozhi who had called Prakasam for a compromise had allegedly assaulted him. Prakasam, who is a diabetic patient fell unconscious in the police station. “I pleaded with the Inspector not to beat me as I was ready for a compromise but she did not listen to my pleas but beat me severely”, Prakasam said. Later, one of his friends took him to the GH for treatment on Thursday night.On information, Tiruverumbur police conducted an inquiry. However, Kanimozhi denied the charges and said Prakasam was in the habit of assaulting his mother and a complaint was lodged by his mother.“Even in front of the police, he was threatening his 65-year-old mother. We prevented him from assaulting his mother”, she said.
