Withdraw excess forces from OU: SHRC to DGP

HYDERABAD: The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has directed the director-general of police V Dinesh Reddy to immediately withdraw excess police forces deployed in and around Osmania University on Tuesday. The SHRC passed this order following a petition filed by Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee (TAJAC) informing that several students were injured after police allegedly beat them up besides using  teargas shells on the campus. They also complained about the the excess police forces deployed on the campus. SHRC in its order said that injured students should be  provided treatment. ''The DGP is expected to file a report about the withdrawal of excess forces by 11 a.m on Wednesday,'' SHRC said.
