Mumbai: After Windows 98, Windows M-E, Windows 2000 and Windows XP, you are going to be introduced to Windows Vista.
If you are a fan of the Mac but want the familiar feel of Windows, you could, well, buy a Mac and use the boot camp feature or simply use Windows Vista - Microsoft's yet to be released next gen Operating Systems (OS).
There are extremely persuasive reasons to give this OS another look.
Its memory management solution allows you to take advantage of your USB drive to add more memory to your Vista PC. Think of it as a steroid for your OS, where the system uses the memory in the USB drive to store information about stuff you might need in the future. Kind of like a ready reckoner. Now as soon as you need that information, the system just simply looks up the USB drive and voila, your memory is served.
And finally look out for SafeDoc. Now this is a more refined version of the system restore option present in XP. Here, if you accidentally delete a file or need to back to a previous version of the file, you can restore the shadow copy of just the file you need and not restore the entire system.
Says Microsoft representative, Manu Namboodiri, "We are hoping to release the eneterprise version of businesses at the end of this year, that's '06, for consumers."
