CHENNAI: Bringing the ‘Big Fat Indian Wedding’ experience to the city, a new wedding and event planning company was recently launched in the city. AB Kankariya’s (ABK), a joint venture with Mumbai-based Twin Soul Entertainment International, was launched by D Jayakumar, Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Assembly, Felicitating G Sangeetha Kankariya, Managing Director of the ABK, the Speaker said, “Such enterprising endeavours should be encouraged, as they will take the tension of wedding planning away from parents.”Goutham Chand Kankariya, one of the directors of ABK, said, “We will take care of pre-wedding, wedding and post-wedding events; from catering, accessories to even roping in celebrities for the wedding.”The company plans to be a one-stop shop for weddings, and will provide whatever the bride and groom request, and will work within any given budget. They are also open to organising weddings for all communities in the city. “With a lot of inter-religious marriages happening, there are bound to be certain conflicts in the planning. We would manage that by coming up with a blend of both cultures in order to please both families,” said Goutham.Twin Soul Entertainment is a full service special event company. Rosemary Dewey of Twin Soul said that the joint venture would help them expand their base in the city. “ABK will be our local connection that will strengthen our network and be the face of our operations in Chennai. We will be doing the same for them in Mumbai,” she said.Prathap Kumar, Councillor of Ward 54, was also present in the event.
