Lucknow: Defeats to star shuttlers P Kashyap and Hu Yun in men's singles competition saw BOP Banga Beats narrowly lose their opening tie but coach Vimal Kumar on Saturday exuded confidence his wards would come good against Awadhe Warriors on Sunday.
Kumar said his team was tired because of the travelling but they are rejuvenated now and are gearing up for their clash against the local team.
"We have learnt from our mistakes that we made in our last game and, of course, continuous travelling also played a major role in game against Mumbai Masters. But now our team has got enough time to rest and practice and we are confident that team will give its best against Awadhe Warriors," Kumar said.
On Kashyap and Hu Yun, Kumar said: "Both of them are world class players and among top 15 ranked. They were tired as they didn't have any time for rest, which took a toll in their respective matches and when a player is tired he tends to make mistakes. Both of them have now recovered mentally and physically and will make us proud."
Kumar was also confident that in Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei, he has the right candidate to tame PV Sindhu.
"She is a young but talented player, which was visible in her last match when she held her nerve and defeated her counterpart Tine Baun. She is in excellent form and looking confident for her next match," he said.
It was their men's doubles pair which had brought Banga Beats back in the contest in the last game and coach Kumar said they are in good form and ready to take on the might of Markis Kido and Mathias Boe on Sunday.
"Carsten Mogensen and Akshay Dewalkar are in excellent form and it didn't seem like they are playing for the first time together. They are practicing hard and are well-prepared to face Markis Kido and Mathias Boe, which is considered to be one of the strongest men's double teams in the league," he said.
About Bangalore's mixed doubles team, Kumar said: "Both Akshay Dewalkar and Aparna Balan gave their best. Aparna is playing well with Akshay as they gave a tough fight to Ivanov and Sikki Reddy. Both of them are practicing more together as they want to be in sync with each other for their next match."
Banga Beats lost their opening tie against Mumbai Masters 3-2 at Delhi on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Banga Beats owner Amit Mavi will be reaching Lucknow on Sunday along with a group of 300 Banga Beats fans to cheer for his team.
"Our objective was to set up a fan club to reach out to the maximum number of Banga Beats fans. A player always needs a cheer from his fans to boost his morale so that he can give his best to the game. We, as Banga Beats fan club, will travel with the team to cheer them even at the opponents court so that our team can feel at home," Mavi said.
