'Want Biden's Apology Or...': 'Fugitive' Sends Threat Mail To US Consulate In Mumbai; FIR Registered

A case has been registered against an unknown person for allegedly sending threatening mail to blow up the Consulate General Office of the United States of America in Mumbai. In the mail sent to the official e-mail address of the consulate, the sender claimed to be a fugitive with multiple felony charges against him in the USA.

The accused demanded US President Joe Biden to personally ‘apologise’ to him and revoke all 19 felony cases against him, otherwise, he would ‘blow up every US consulate in India.’ He also threatened to start killing American citizens in India if his demands were not met.

The threat mail was received at the US Consulate located in the city’s Bandra Kurla Complex area at 3:50 am on February 9 (Friday) from e-mail id–[email protected], according to a report by India Today.

After receiving the threatening mail, Mumbai’s BKC police station has registered a case against an unknown person under sections 505(1)(b)(making a statement with intent to cause fear or alarm to the public, whereby any person may be induced to commit an offence against the State or the public tranquillity) and 506(2) of the IPC and further investigation is underway.

Quoting sources, a report by Hindustan Times said that police have lead that the mail was sent from West Bengal’s Kolkata by a California-born American citizen of Indian descent.
