Vehicles gutted in fire accidents

BANGALORE: In two separate incidents, seven two-wheelers, a car and a BMTC bus were gutted on Sunday. In an incident reported in Ideal Home Layout in Raja Rajeshwarinagar, five bikes, two mopeds and a Hyundai Accent car were gutted in the fire. The vehicle were parked in the cellar of ‘Nammane’ Apartment. Fire broke out at around 1 am.  The fire personnel rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The two wheelers that caught fire included a Royal Enfield Bullet. “Possibilities of some miscreants behind the incident is ruled out. However, the exact reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained. It is suspected that short circuit in a road side electric pole nest of the apartment might have triggered the fire,” the police added. Raja Rajeshwarinagar police are investigating.In other incident reported in Kottanur police station limits, a BMTC bus was gutted after it caught fire accidentally. The bus that plies between Majestic and Narayanapura, was parked at Narayanapura bus stop.  Murugan, the driver was counting the day’s collection inside the bus when a few passersby alerted Murugan that the bus’s rear wheel had caught fire.
