UoH Honourary Doctorate for NSDs Founder

HYDERABAD: Founder-director of National School of Drama, Ebrahim Alkazi, will be conferred an honorary doctorate by the University of Hyderabad at the India International Centre Annexe in New Delhi on December 14.He will be presented with the degree of Doctor of Literature (honoris causa) by university's chancellor R.Chidambaram.Vice-chancellor Ramakrishna Ramaswamy will preside over the function.Ebrahim Alkazi was the director of NSD in 1962 and has been the recipient of honors such as Padma Vibhushan and the Sangeet Natak Akademi award for his contribution to the field of theatre and fine arts.The department of theatre arts of the University of Hyderabad will also host a panel discussion on 'Theatre pedagogy in India: Retrospect and prospect' at the venue.
