THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A unified platform of forward Hindu communities should be forged to attain reservation and other benefits, the National Forward Communities United Front has said. Front secretary K C Madhavan Nambiar told a press conference here on Monday that such a front should organise popular agitation to uphold the rights of the deprived sections of the forward communities. The prevailing thought of the governments is that minorities form the chunk of the society and their interests alone needed to be protected. Those enjoying the benefit of caste reservation are leading a prosperous life but others are struggling to make both ends meet, he said.The forward communities, taking a lesson from the fifth minister berth for the Muslim League and the strengthening claim for reservation to entire Nadar community, should wake from the slumber and display unity, the Front leaders said.
