Two boys rescued at Marina

CHENNAI: Two boys, who had run away from their homes, were rescued by police at Marina Beach on Friday. S Karthik Raja and M Nagoor Kani, both 13 years old are hailing from Thirupullani taluk in Ramanathapuram. The Class VIII students reportedly fled home due to an unfavourable domestic atmosphere.Special sub-inspector Kumar, of Anna Square police station, who noticed the boys loitering near the Light House on Kamarajar Salai around 11.30 pm on Thursday, said they initially gave wrong information about their identity, parents and address. Anna square police alerted the local police station of their native village, who subsequently got in touch with their parents.While Nagoor’s uncle Rehman, who runs a shop on Ellis Road, came to the police station and took him away on Friday, Karthik was sent to a boys’ home on Wall Tax Road.
