Prague: Australian Open semifinalist Tomas Berdych will lead defending champion Czech Republic in the first round of the Davis Cup against the Netherlands next week.
Berdych will again team up with Radek Stepanek. The two played all five matches when the Czechs beat Spain 3-2 in the 2012 final and did the same in Belgrade in November, when they beat Serbia 3-2 to retain the title.
Lukas Rosol and Jiri Vesely are also in the Czech squad for the Jan. 31-Feb. 2 tie on an indoor hard court at CEZ Arena in the eastern Czech city of Ostrava.
Berdych beat David Ferrer 6-1, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 on Tuesday to earn a spot in the Australian Open semifinals for the first time.
