Every year, the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm and devotion across the country. Each state has its way of conducting the celebration, adding to the celebratory atmosphere and giving it a unique touch. This village in Andhra Pradesh set up a distinctive mandapam for the day’s celebration, earning the attention of the locals.

According to the reports of Local18, the unique Vinayaka Mandapam was set up in the village of Karlam, in Cheepurupalli, Vizianagaram district. The idol was set up by the Youth Friends Committee of the village, as per the information given.

This committee is popular for celebrating Vinayak Chaturthi with great zeal and pomp, not only in the village but also across the whole district. They engage in the worship of Lord Ganesha with all the traditions. Each year, they perform the puja, keeping in mind the safety of the environment.

As per more Local18 reports, the committee has been working for the last 20 years and has constructed over 20 sets of Gods and Goddesses. The deities include Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesha, along with constructions of monuments like India Gate and the Lotus Temple.

The Youth Friends Committee consists of members from various educational and career backgrounds. It includes intermediate students, postgraduate students and young men from several other private sectors. It is a group of about 200 to 300 people.

This year, the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated from September 6. To celebrate the day, devotees place the Lord Ganesha idols on raised platforms and spend the days worshipping him with fanfare. By the end of the festival, the Lord is immersed in holy rivers like Ganga or Yamuna, or any other nearby river, close to where Lord Ganesha was placed. The ceremony is known as Visarjan.
