Tharoor visits Panickers house

KOTTAYAM: Shashi Tharoor MP on Sunday visited the late NSS leader P K Narayana Panicker’s house in Changanassery and offered condolences to bereaved family members. Tharoor returned after attending the ‘sanjayanam’ ritual. The former Union minister also met NSS General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Revenue Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan and Union Minister K V Thomas were among those who attended the function.The visit assumes importance as all was not well between the MP and the NSS leadership after the latter had expressed its reservations on Tharoor’s ministerial berth at the Centre in 2009. Talking to mediapersons, Tharoor said that all misunderstandings between him and the organisation have been cleared.
