A day after a cow’s tail was purportedly found inside the premises of a temple in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara, a large number of people gathered in the market to protest against the incident on Monday and forced shops to down the shutters. A crowd had gathered at the scene of the incident on Sunday demanding strict action against the culprits. Right-wing groups had issued an ultimatum to the police that markets would be shut on Monday if the accused were not arrested by 5:00 pm on Sunday.
Collector Bhilwara, Namit Mehta said, “We got information about an incident where a cow tail was found in front of a religious place and a protest by locals against it. In this connection, talks were held with the local public representatives and saints and the protest ended. They were assured that those behind the incident will be held soon. Police are deployed in sensitive areas. The atmosphere is peaceful.”
