THANJAVUR: A teacher was arrested here on Sunday on charges of stealing her employment documents from a school.Deivalakshmi (51), a resident of R V Nagar, Reddypalayam Road, was working at Konganeswarar Primary School, West Main Street.According to sources, when the headmaster of the school Prakash (58), who retired recently, scrutinised the administrative records to be handed over prior to his retirement it came to light that the service file of Deivalakshmi was missing and that she had stolen it. When she was questioned about the missing file and asked to hand it back, Deivalakshmi allegedly denied the incident and abused Prakash.Based on a complaint lodged by Prakash, Thanjavur West Police registered a case and arrested Deivalakshmi.Case Against Seven in Land sale On the orders of the court, Kumbakonam East police on Sunday registered cases against seven persons, including two women, for allegedly producing fake documents and disposing the land owned by Durairaj (42), son of Subbarayar of Babuchettikulam.It is said the title deed of the land was fraudulently transferred to Sudhakar by seven persons — Rajendran of Chakrapani Vadampokki Street, Vijendran, his brother, Murali of Swamimalai Main Road, Keezhakottaiyur, Indira, wife of Ranganathan, also of the same place, Mahendran of Sivankoil East Street, West Ammachathiram, M Chandramohan, employee of a Karaikal-based bank and Vasuki of Minjur, Chennai. Durairaj moved the court which directed the police to investigate. Accordingly, inspector John Sundar registered the case.
