NEW DELHI - Amid heightened border tensions, External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj has managed to save a cross-border marriage of Jodhpur based Naresh Tewani with Karachi girl Priya Bachani who are scheduled to the tie nuptial knot on 7th November.
After media reports about bride's family facing problem in getting Visa surfaced, Swaraj assured help to the family in procuring the visa for the wedding.
She tweeted, "Pl don't worry, we will issue the visa"

A day after Sushma tweeted, the Indian High Commission in Islamabad issued Visa to Priya Bachani and 11 of her family members.
Priya and Naresh got engaged three years ago but the girl and her family members reportedly applied for Indian Visa around three months ago.
Majority of Hindus in Pakistan live in the Sindh province. Some of them have thriving businesses in Pakistan's commercial capital Karachi. Even though there has been a steady exodus of Hindus from Pakistan post 1990s, Karachi still has some Hindu businessmen and professionals.
The marriage between their community in India and Hindus in Pakistan is quiet common. The Hindu community leaders argue that if Indian government relaxes visa norms for them, there can be more interaction and matrimonial alliances.
Umerkot district bordering Rajasthan has over 50% Hindu population and many of them have married across the border.
