Struggle will continue: Stalin

THENI: The DMK will continue its struggle until the rights of TN over Mullaiperiyar dam are restored, party treasurer M K Stalin said here on Wednesday.Inaugurating a human chain protest in Theni over the Mullaiperiyar row, Stalin said that the agitation was taking place in pursuance of the decision taken by the executive committee of the party. He expressed the hope that the TN Assembly would adopt a resolution unanimously on Thursday over this vexed issue. It was earlier decided to conduct the agitation on December 15. But after the CM convened a special Assembly sessions on that date, the party had advanced the stir to enable its MLAs to express their views.He said that the politicians in Kerala were spreading rumours with ulterior motives. There was no doubt that the dam was strong but the CM of Kerala Oommen Chandy and former CM Achudanandan were capitalising on the issue for political mileage. Stalin said that they would never condone attempts of Kerala to deprive TN farmers of their water. He accused Centre of being indifferent to this problem, as was the case of all problems affecting Tamil Nadu.
