Pune: After the expectation, the disappointment—that about summed up the sentiment in Pune as the expected visit of Hollywood star Angelia Jolie failed to materialise till Sunday evening.
Jolie and companion Brad Pitt were to reach this western Indian town Sunday but through the day, the authorities kept mum on their whereabouts.
From the police commissioner, to the traffic police chief, to the police control room, to the airport, to hotels, the response was the same: "We have no information".
Municipal Commissioner Nitin Kareer, too, wasn't forthcoming.
"I know a lot about city matters but have not heard much in terms of the Jolie visit," Kareer said.
Jolie was expected here to shoot for A Mighty Heart based on the real life story of Wall Street journalist Daniel Pearl, who was killed in Pakistan by Islamist terrorists in 2002.
Pune was chosen for the shooting as the landscape and ambience resembled that between Islamabad and Karachi, where Pearl was beheaded.
People in Pune were enthused by her impending six-weeks trip. Ordinary citizens were abuzz with anticipation, and so were the few more interested in serious cinema. The star couple are said to bringing along their three children - Maddox, Zahara and newborn Shiloh-Nouvel.
